Nor'easters jump all over Regis to halt losing streak

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Amanda Barker '09 (Gloucester, Mass.) and Ashley MacDonald '08 (Billerica, Mass.) each had three goals and one assist to lead the University of New England Nor'easters to a 17-1 rout of Regis College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse match played at Wellesley College on Saturday afternoon.

The Nor'easters saw their five-game losing streak come to a close as they upped their record to 3-7 overall and won their first TCCC game of the year (1-3).  Regis fell to 0-4 overall, 0-3 in conference play.

UNE would utilize a balanced attack to jump out to a 10-0 advantage at the half.  Regis got into the scoring column 6:15 into the second frame on a free-position goal by Diana Mariano '11 (Danvers, Mass.).  The Nor'easters got goals from 11 different players.

Mallory Long '10 (Lewiston, Maine) and Carlie Brigham 09 (Derry, N.H.) each contributed two goals and an assist for the Nor'easters.  Ginny Lee '10 (York, Maine) was credited with a match-high two assists.

Jackie Price '10 (Billerica, Mass.) needed just two saves to register the victory for UNE, which is scheduled to play New England College on Tuesday.
