Kate McCarter notched a pair of goals in the Nor'easters 15-8 loss to Colby-Sawyer

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Allicia Murphy '09 (North Bennington, Vt.) tallied seven goals to lead Colby-Sawyer College past the University of New England, 15-8, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
After Murphy got the visitors on the board in the first minute of the contest, the Nor'easters answered back with a pair of goals to take what would be their only lead of the game with just over 24 minutes remaining in the first half.
The Chargers (5-8, 5-4 TCCC) responded with four straight goals to regain the advantage, and went into the break with a 6-4 lead.
UNE held the upper hand in play in the early stages of the second half, getting as close as one (9-8) on a goal by Ashley MacDonald '08 (Billerica, Mass.) with 17:39 remaining, but the Chargers would close with six straight goals—three by Murphy—to secure victory.
In addition to her seven goals, Murphy also collected a game-high five draw controls. Lisa Giordano '08 (Londonderry, N.H.) chipped in with five goals, and goalie Alicia Foss '10 (Hardwick, Vt.) made 11 saves to pick up the win.
MacDonald led the UNE attack with three goals, while Kate McCarter '11 (Bellingham, Mass.) added a pair. Jackie Price '10 (Billerica, Mass.) turned away 18 shots in a losing effort.
The Nor'easters will next take to the field Thursday when they host the University of Southern Maine. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Colby-Sawyer is set to visit Western New England College on Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. TCCC match.
