Ashley DePasquale came off the bench to play the role of hero, sending the Nor'easters home happy

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Ashley DePasquale stroked a one-out single down the third base line to score Katie Carroll in the bottom of the seventh, giving the University of New England a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Thomas College in the second game of a doubleheader Thursday afternoon at Claude Dubois Field.
Brittany Morin and Kim Denbow each had two hits and two runs batted in as the Terriers took a 4-3 win in the first game.
Trailing 2-0 early in the nightcap, the Nor'easters would start chipping away in the home half of the third. After Lisa Baillargeon smashed a one-out triple, Megan Gaedje followed with a bunt single to score Baillargeon.
The Nor'easters would even things up in the fifth when DePasquale tripled to right to plate Baillargeon, who had led off the inning with a single up the middle.
Amber Zablowsky '11 (Rochester, Mass.) earned the pitching win with five solid innings of relief. She allowed one run on seven hits to up her record to 4-3.
Thomas would get all the offense it would need in the third and fourth innings of game one. In the third Denbow tripled to right field to plate a pair, then Morin had a two-run single in the following frame.
Terriers' starter Nicole Smith allowed two earned runs and struck out six for the victory, improving her season mark to 4-1.
Chelsea Cummings and Katie Morin had two hits apiece for the Nor'easters. Morin knocked in two runs with a double in the first.
The Nor'easters (8-8) head to Quincy, Mass. on Saturday for a The Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader at Eastern Nazarene College.
Thomas (4-6) travels to Johnson State College that same afternoon for a North Atlantic Conference twinbill.
