Sophomore Dani Wood handed out two assists, but the Nor'easters fell to their fourth straight loss

MILTON, Mass. -- Ashley Hansbury '10 (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored seven goals to lead the Curry Colllege Colonels to a 20-7 victory over the University of New England Nor'easters in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action played in cold and blustery conditions Saturday afternoon.
Winners of four straight, the Colonels improve to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Nor'easters have dropped four consecutive starts to slip to 2-6, 0-2 in league matches.
The high-powered Curry offense was in full force, racing out to a 13-2 halftime advantage. The Colonels entered the match leading the TCCC in goals per game (16.57).
Nikki MacKay '09 (Framingham, Mass.) and Ashley Sherman '10 (Billerica, Mass.) each scored five goals to team with Hansbury in accounting for 17 of Curry's 21 scores.
Ashley MacDonald '08 (Billerica, Mass.) round the back of the goal three times to pace UNE. She also added a pair of assists, as did Danielle Wood '10 (Scarborough, Maine). Goalies Tara Geraghty '11 (Barrington, R.I.) and Jackie Price '10 (Billerica, Mass.) combined to make 10 saves.
The Nor'easters will look to snap their four-game losing skid Wednesday (April 2) when they host Western New England College for a TCCC game starting at 3:30 p.m.
