Slippery Rock jumps all over UNE, 11-0

COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- Stacey Rhoades '08 (South Park, Pa.) pitched a three-hit shutout and helped her own cause by blasting a pair of home runs as Slippery Rock University shut out the University of New England, 11-0, in a college softball game played Tuesday morning.

The Rock (5-0) scored in all five innings of the contest, which was halted due to the eight-run rule.  Slippery Rock tallied five runs in the top of the fifth to break the game open.

Rhoades added a single to finish with three hits in her team's 10-hit attack.  Jessica Kortz '10 (Charleston, W.Va.) contributed a homer in the first.

Katie Morin '10 (Lewiston, Maine), Rachel Boutin '09 (Winslow, Maine) and Ashley DePasquale '09 (Uxbridge, Mass.) each had a single for UNE (0-1).
