BRISTOL, R.I. -- The University of New England swim team finished second at the two-day The Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational hosted by Roger Williams University on Friday and Saturday.

The Nor'easters, who won 14 of 22 swim races, totaled a team score of 956 to finish behind host Roger Williams (1,073).  UNE does not have diving team, which was a component of the overall team scores.

First-year Sara Shea won four events to lead UNE. Shea took home wins in all three breaststroke races, as well as the 400-yard individual medley.  

Senior Ali Wagner and first-year Lizzie Wareham  each picked up three individual wins.  Wagner won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly races, as well as the 200-yard individual medley.  Wareham earned first-place honors in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events and the 50-yard butterfly.

The Nor'easters claimed victory in three relay races - the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, and 400-yard medley relay.

UNE concludes first-semester competition when it heads to Western New England College next Saturday.
