WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Fueled by a first-place finish by Edgar Kosgey, the host Williams College men's cross country team put forth an impressive hometown performance to win the 2008 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship.
Brendan Christian and Jeff Perlis joined Kosgey in the Top 5 for Williams, which totaled a team score of 36 to run away from the field. Amherst College finished a distant second with a score of 122.
The University of New England Nor'easters placed 32nd out of 49 schools with a score of 966. Sophomore
Matt Veiga posted an eight-kilometer time of 28:12 to crack the Top 100 in 88th place.
