WATERVILLE, Maine -- The University of New England golf team placed fifth out of seven entries at the Sid Farr Invitational hosted by Colby College and played at Waterville Country Club on Saturday.
Husson College (58 points) won the modified stableford event, with eagle counting as three points, birdie as two, par as one, bogey zero and double bogey minus one (-1). The Nor'easters (22) also finished behind Bowdoin College, University of Southern Maine and Bates College.
Nathan Fairfield was credited with seven points to lead the way for UNE.
Mike Zemrak and
Shawn Pabst earned five points apiece,
Cory Guenette four, and
Sean Caddigan one.
UNE is idle until Oct. 23 when they compete in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational at Essex Country Club.
