Box Score
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Junior
Taryn Flagg (Livermore Falls, Maine) scored two goals to break her own school single-season record, and the University of New England Nor'easters handed the Gordon College Fighting Scots their first conference loss of the season with a 6-1 victory in rainy conditions Thursday afternoon.

UNE got off to a very strong start, taking a 3-0 lead in the opening 16:50. Flagg, senior
Nicole Mace (Readfield, Maine) and classmate
Kim Anderson (Bowdoin, Maine) found the back of the cage to build the advantage.
The Nor'easters made it 4-0 with 3:15 left in the half on a goal by sophomore
Michaela Franey (York, Maine). UNE controlled play the entire frame, earning an 18-4 advantage in shots.
Junior
Anne Cowles (Franconia, N.H.) put in her first goal of the season to give the hosts a 5-0 advantage midway through the second half, then the Scots got on the scoreboard two minutes later on a tally by senior Mollie Sweeney (South Hamilton, Mass.).
Flagg scored her record-breaking goal with 6:22 to play, and at that point the game was halted due to heavy rain. The goal was Flagg's 13 of the season, breaking her previous mark set in 2006.
Sophomore

The Nor'easters will enjoy a five-day layoff before resuming play Wednesday with a home game versus Regis College.
