Alli Gamache made four of UNE's nine 3-point field goals in a 77-33 win over Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. -- Captain Alli Gamache '09 (Dudley, Mass.) scored 20 points--including four 3-pointers--to lead the University of New England to a 77-33 rout of Eastern Nazarene College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball game played at the Lahue Recreation Center Wednesday evening.
The Nor'easters snap a modest two-game losing streak, and in the process, even their overall (8-8) and conference records (2-2). Eastern Nazarene falls to 4-12 overall, 0-4 in TCCC play.
The contest would be decided by halftime, with the Nor'easters jumping out to a 41-15 advantage. The Crusaders made just 5 of 20 (25.0 percent) of their field goal attempts in the frame.
Gamache finished the evening with an 8-for-12 shooting performance en route to a game-high 20 points to equal her career high. She added five steals in just 23 minutes of play.
No other UNE player scored in double figures, as all 15 players on the roster saw action and none played more than 24 minutes. Katie Diggins '10 (Merrimack, N.H.) and Megan Wyand '09 (Durham, N.H.) scored nine points apiece and Marissa Hesketh '08 (Tolland, Conn.) added seven.
The Nor'easters held a 45-33 rebounding advantage and came away with 19 steals in forcing 34 Crusader turnovers. They also made 9 of 12 (75.0 percent) of their shots from beyond the arc.
Victoria Sontag '11 (Mt. Vernon, N.H.) had nine points for ENC.
The Nor'easters will look to make it two straight Saturday when they host Anna Maria College. Game time at the Campus Center is 1:00 p.m.
