Swim team continues to impress with sweep of Gordon and Salem

WENHAM, Mass. - The University of New England swim team utilized outstanding team depth in upping its record to 10-2 with a sweep of host Gordon College and Salem State College in a tri-meet Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.

The Nor'easters defeated Gordon College by the score of 92-26 and earned a convincing 104-12 decision over Salem State College.

Eight different swimmers won events for the Nor'easters, with #Erica Johnson# '09 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), #Ali Wagner# '09 (Monrovia, Calif.) and #Devan Gilman# '11 (Rochester, N.H.) leading the way with a pair of victories.  Wagner and Johnson were each also part of winning relay teams.  Johnson, Wagner and Gilman also earned wins as part of winning relay teams.  The Nor'easters took relay decisions in the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle.

The Nor'easters will face a stiff test next Saturday (Jan. 26) when they head to Bristol, R.I. to take on The Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Roger Williams University.
