FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Six-foot center Christina Bordini '08 (Chelmsford, Mass.) registered a game-high 32 points to lead the Framingham State College Rams to a 75-61 non-conference women's basketball victory over the University of New England Nor'easters Thursday evening.

The win is the third in the last four starts for the Rams, who improve to 4-6.  UNE saw its record swing back to the .500 mark at 7-7.

Bordini and guard Allison Hart '09 (Somerset, Mass.) each scored six points to help get Framingham State off to a quick start.  Bordini converted three lay-ups and Hart knocked down a pair of 3-pointers as the hosts established a 14-2 lead less than five minutes into the contest.

After a jumper by Brooke Weston '09 (Dixfield, Maine) halted the Ram surge, Framingham reeled off seven more points to establish a 21-4 bulge at the 12:15 mark.

The Rams would build their lead to as many as 23 (39-16) before settling for a 43-26 lead at the break.  Bordini had 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting as Framingham shot 46.9 percent (15 of 32).  Conversely, the Nor'easters made 32.0 percent (8 of 25) of their tries from the floor and turned the ball over 15 times.

Framingham State would maintain a double-digit lead the entire second half, with UNE getting as close as 10 (71-61) in the final minute.

Toya Chester '10 (Leominster, Mass.) scored 12 points for the winners, while forward Jill Johnson '11 (Mansfield, Mass.) contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.  Bordini pulled down nine boards to help the Rams to a 48-36 rebounding advantage.

First-year guards Lyndie Libby '11 (Buxton, Maine) and Carrie Bunnell '11 (Barnet, Vt.) tallied 15 points apiece for the Nor'easters.  The duo combined to nail seven 3-pointers on 14 attempts.  Weston finished with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

UNE made just 30.8 percent (20 of 68) of its attempts from the floor and ended the contest with 21 miscues.  Nearly half (29) of the Nor'easters' 68 field goal tries were from beyond the arc.

Next up for UNE is a home game versus Salve Regina University on Saturday.  Game time at the Campus Center is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
