The Nor'easters split a tri-meet with host Bates and visiting Norwich on Saturday afternoon

LEWISTON, Maine -- The University of New England women's swim team split a tri-meet at Bates College Saturday afternoon, losing to the host Bobcats,199-77, but defeating Norwich University, 185-50.
#Ali Wagner# '09 (Monrovia, Calif.) picked up the lone win for the Nor'easters on the afternoon, taking the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.44. Wagner placed second in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.70) and the 50-yard butterfly (28.79).
#Erica Johnson# '09 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) had a second-place showing in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.76.
Wagner and Johnson were each part of the Nor'easters' second-place relay team in the 200-yard free, combining with #Alison Leopard#'10 (Bloomington, Ill.) and #Anna Hecker# '10 (Keene, N.H.) to post a time of 1:49.03, just three one-hundreths of a second behind the winners.
UNE travels to The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Gordon College next Saturday (Jan. 19) for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
