BRISTOL, R.I. -- Tournament Most Valuable Player Jaclyn DeMais '08 (Hillsdale, N.J.) led the way as the Amherst College Jeffs powered their way past the University of New England in the second match of the morning at the Roger Williams University Invitational.
DeMais, who went on to pile up 43 kills for the tourney, was the catalyst for the Jeffs (2-0), who outscored UNE 90-38 in the match.
Claire Varner '10 (Breckenridge, Mich.), Ellen Choinski '10 (Saundertown, R.I.) and Alex Toregas '08 (Chevy Chase, Md.) each had four kills for the Nor'easters (0-5). Josie Raphaelito '09 (Pine Hill, N.M.) handed out 10 assists, while Chelsea Boyle '11 (Cumberland, R.I.) dug out a team-high six balls.
