The Nor'easters suffered their first conference loss of the season, a 3-1 decision to WNEC
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Host Western New England College upped its record to 14-3 on the season by virtue of a 3-1 win over the University of New England in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference tri-match Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the day the Golden Bears had lost to Gordon College. UNE followed that match by defeating Gordon in five games.
Alex Toregas '08 (Chevy Chase, Md.) recorded 18 kills and six blocks to pace the Nor'easters. Claire Varner '10 (Breckenridge, Mich.) contributed nine kills and 10 digs, while Ellen Choinski '10 (Saunderstown, R.I.) was credited with 10 digs. Setter Alissa Ehmke '08 (Baileys Harbor, Wisc.) helped fuel the offense with 34 assists.
The Nor'easters (5-9, 4-1 TCCC) host Anna Maria College for a conference match Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
