UNE Ties for Fourth at Sid Farr Invitational

Mike Zemrak totals seven points to lead Nor'easters

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The University of New England golf team tied for fourth place at the Sid Farr Classic hosted by Colby College at par-70 Waterville Country Club Saturday afternoon.

The event, which utilized a modified stableford scoring system, was won by Husson College with a score of 41.  Three points were awarded for each eagle, two for a birdie, one for a par, zero for each bogey, and minus one for double bogey or worse.  UNE totaled 22 points to match the University of Maine Farmington for the fourth spot.

Mike Zemrak '09 (Winslow, Maine) was the low UNE player with an aggregate score of seven points.  He carded a medal score of 83.  Travis Deabay '11 (Millinocket, Maine) recorded six points for the Nor'easters, who will play in the Saint Joseph's College Invitational/John Queenan Memorial on Tuesday at Point Sebago Golf Course.

Kurt Schuler of Bates College was the individual champion with a modified stableford score of 13 points.
