Josh Havelin '11 placed seventh to record his second straight Top 10 finish

UNE impresses in field of NCAA II teams

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Paced by Matt Veiga '11 (Lynn, Mass.) and Josh Havelin '11 (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) for the second consecutive meet, the University of New England men's cross country team placed third out of a field of five at the Shacklette Invitational hosted by Saint Anselm College on Saturday.

Veiga placed fifth with a time of 28:01 over the eight-kilometer course.  Havelin registered a time of 28:09 to finish seventh.  Josh Grenier '11 (Otisfield, Maine), Dan Kelleher '11 (Norton, Mass.) and Sam Powell '08 (China, Maine) rounded out UNE's top five.  That trio placed 18th, 19th and 20th, respectively.

Jefferson Welch of event champion Merrimack College was the winner.  He circled the course in a time of 27:05 to win by 14 seconds.
