Mace, Couture, Youland Score Three Times Apiece in 17-0 Shutout

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- A trio of players scored three goals apiece, as the University of New England opened its The Commonwealth Coast Conference schedule with a 17-0 shutout of Regis College on a drizzly Saturday afternoon.

Nicole Mace '09 (Readfield, Maine), Kassie Couture '10 (Berlin, N.H.) and Briana Youland '11 (Turner, Maine) each had three goals for the Nor'easters in their school-record 17-goal performance. 

Amy Williams '08 (Bridgewater, N.H.) added two goals and a pair of assists, while Lisa Baillargeon '08 (Berlin, N.H.) and Jaimie Langevin '09 (Berlin, N.H.) each scored twice.

Goalies Tanya Callan '08 (Brick, N.J.) and Ayla Nelson '11 (Auburn, Mass.) each saw action for the Nor'easters, who held a 65-0 advantage in shots. 

UNE (2-2, 1-0 TCCC) will be looking to make it three straight wins on Tuesday when it travels to UMass Dartmouth for a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Kristin Tavares '09 (Acushnet, Mass.) was called upon to stop 26 shots for the Pride, who travel to Clark University for a 7:00 p.m. match Tuesday.
