Johnson, Wagner Lead UNE over UMass Dartmouth

Nor'easters move to 2-0 with 122-83 victory

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Erica Johnson '09 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Ali Wagner '10 (Monrovia, Calif.) each won a pair of individual events and were part of winning relay teams, as the University of New England defeated UMass Dartmouth, 122-83, in a college women's swim meet Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.

Johnson took victory in the 50-yard freestyle (26.28) and the 100-yard freestyle (57.34), and was also part of the Nor'easters' winning 400-yard freestyle relay team.  Wagner was first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:26.46) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:28.88).  She was also part of UNE's winning 200-yard medley relay squad.

Alison Leopard '10 (Bloomington, Ill.) was the other UNE swimmer to claim victory individually, winning the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:26.91.

Katelyn Chase '08 (Westport, Mass.) won two events for the Corsairs--the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.95 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.94.

The Nor'easters, who improve to 2-0, will take part in the Regis College Invitational next Saturday (Nov. 10) at noon.

UMass Dartmouth (1-1) travels to Bridgewater State College Tuesday for meet starting at 6:00 p.m.
