WESTON, Mass. -- Led by a dominant performance by Erica Johnson '09 (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), the University of New England won the swim component of the Regis College Invitational but finished fourth overall for the event, which included scores for diving.
UNE, which does not sponsor diving, had a team score of 618.5. Westfield State College totaled 706 to win the meet. Simmons College was second and Mount Holyoke College third.
Johnson won three of the four freestyle events. She took the 50-yard race with a time of 26.36, the 100-yard race in a time of 57.59, and the 200-yard event with a time of 2:07.41.
Alison Leopard '10 (Bloomington, Ill.) captured the other freestyle race, recording a time of 5:42.92 in the 500-yard. Later, she placed second in the 100-yard backstroke.
Ali Wagner '09 (Monrovia, Calif.) had a pair of second-place showings (50-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly) for the Nor'easters, who host Wheelock College and Husson College for a tri-meet Nov. 17.
