LEWISTON, Maine -- Middle hitter Alex Toregas '08 (Chevy Chase, Md.) was credited with a career-high 20 kills as the University of New England defeated Emmanuel College, 3-0, in a morning match at the Maine Mid-Coast Classic hosted by Bates College.

The Nor'easters took the match in three straight with game scores of 30-21, 30-26, 30-28.  UNE improves to 7-9 overall, while the Saints fall to 2-15.

Toregas had five solo blocks to go with her 20 kills.  Claire Varner '10 (Breckenridge, Mich.) contrubuted nine kills and 12 digs, while Kristen Edwards '11 (Laconia, N.H.) put down five balls and had four solo blocks.  Alissa Ehmke '08 (Baileys Harbor, Wisc.) played a strong match, handing out 37 assists, registering 10 digs, and adding a pair of service aces.
