Roger Williams Takes Down UNE, 3-1

UNE fell out of first play in the conference standings Saturday, and awaits word on its quarterfinal opponent

Back-to-back losses drop Nor'easters from first place to fourth

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Roger Williams University needed four games to defeat the University of New England (30-23, 30-26, 24-30, 31-29) Saturday in The Commonwealth Coast Conference volleyball action hosted by Endicott College.

The Hawks win improves their record to 17-13 overall, 6-3 in the TCCC.  The Nor'easters dropped their second straight contest to finish the regular season with an 11-12 overall record, 7-3 in conference play.

Ellen Choinski '10 (Saunderstown, R.I.) recorded a team-high 15 kills and Claire Varner '10 (Breckenridge, Mich.) chipped in with 10.  Alissa Ehmke '08 (Baileys Harbor, Wisc.) fueled the offense with 30 assists.

UNE will play an opening-round match in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, time and location yet to be determined.  The tournament pairings will be released late Sunday.
