BEVERLY, Mass. – All-conference forward Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) scored twice to lead the top-seeded Endicott College women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over the eighth-seeded University of New England in the first round of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament on Saturday.

The Blue and Green found their offensive stride early on as Paula McGinn (Lynn, Mass.) opened the scoring in the 14th minute when she carried the ball into the UNE penalty area and beat Nor'easters goalkeeper Leigh Engel (Richmondville, N.Y.) to the near post.

Flynn stretched the Gulls lead to 2-0 in the 23rd minute with an unassisted goal that slipped through the hands of Engel who misjudged the speed of the shot on the wet turf. Endicott went into the half with a comfortable two goal lead after out-shooting the Nor'easters 9-0 and controlling the possession in the first frame.

The Gulls made it 3-0 early in the second half as Ashley Clark (E. Kingston, N.H.) found Flynn with a cross for her 14 goal of the year. Sophomore Allyson Bellmore (Manchester, N.H.) sealed the 4-0 win in the final minute adding an insurance goal after finding herself alone in front of the UNE net.

The Nor'easters fall to 5-11-1 overall and have their TCCC Tournament hopes ended by the four time defending champions. Endicott improves to 14-5 overall and advances to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinal round were they will host cross town rival Gordon College on Wednesday afternoon, that game is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
