NEW LONDON, N.H. – Colby-Sawyer's Nic DeZenzo (Methuen, Mass.) scored just four minutes into the game off a pass from Chris Rafferty (Milford, Mass.) and Chris Blue (Center Harbor, N.H.) added another 31 seconds into the second half as the Chargers defeated the Nor'easters of the University of New England 2-1 Thursday afternoon.

DeZenzo put the Chargers ahead early, scoring on a give-and-go pass from Rafferty, powering the ball past UNE goalkeeper Derek Poulin '10 (Scarborough, Maine) to give the Chargers the advantage, 1-0.

UNE answered back in just ten minutes later when Dylan Saucier '10 (Windham, Maine) took a Will Berry (Berlin, Vt.) miscue in the box and scored on an empty net, knotting the game at 1-1.

Just after the half, Colby-Sawyer's Chris Blue took a Tony Soto (Rochester, N.H.) pass and found the back of the net, once again giving the Chargers the advantage, 2-1. Colby-Sawyer turned on the defense after that, controlling the tempo for the remainder of the game, allowing just four second-half shots by the Nor'easters.

Colby-Sawyer goalkeeper T.J. Dougherty (E. Grandby, Conn.) made four saves and did not allow a goal in 67 plus minutes of work in goal, taking over for Berry. UNE's Poulin made 12 saves in goal for the Nor'easters.

Colby-Sawyer out-shot the Nor'easters 22 to 7.

Colby-Sawyer (7-7-2, 7-3-1 TCCC) moves back to .500 on the season with two games remaining before the conference tournament. The Chargers host Clark University for Senior Day on Saturday, October 20 at 1 p.m.

The University of New England (4-9-1, 3-7-1 TCCC) will next travel to Newport, R.I. for a match-up with the Seahawks of Salve Regina on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
