BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England has released the competition schedules for the Spring 2012 sports. February 26 is the opener for men's lacrosse, while women's lacrosse is slated to get underway the following day. Softball is eyeing a mid-March start during Spring Break in Florida.

In 2011-12, the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) -- UNE's primary conference in all but one sport -- has taken on a new look. The league, previously with 14 member institutions, now consists of 10. For the spring sports sponsored by the Nor'easters, the changes will impact the size of postseason field in lacrosse, as compared to previous years.
