BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England men's lacrosse team will begin its 2012 campaign at Husson on February 26, and is in line for a March 3 home-opener at the Big Blue Turf against Wheaton (Mass.).

Mixed into the stretch of six non-conference games at the top of the schedule are newcomers Plymouth State (Mar. 10) and MIT (Mar. 17), before Big Blue kicks-off its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) docket with a visit to defending champion Endicott on March 19.

After a Spring Break getaway that features stops at Manhattanville and Western Connecticut, UNE completes its 8-game road trip with a pair of conference games and a visit to the fifth new non-conference foe, Colby (Apr. 3).

With changes in the composition of the league, down from 11 competing institutions to 9, there are now eight dates that makeup the CCC slate. The CCC tournament -- for which six teams now qualify -- is set to begin on April 28 with two first-round matches.
