James (Jim) Kerr '64, a native of Long Island, New York, played varsity baseball and basketball at St. Francis College from 1960-1964. He was a captain in each sport and exhibited strong leadership qualities.
Kerr went on to become a successful coach and teacher at Holy Cross High School in Flushing, N.Y., where he is a member of its Hall of Fame. During part of his tenure at Holy Cross, Kerr served on the selection committee for the prestigious McDonald's High School All-America Basketball Game.
Today, Kerr is the girls' varsity basketball coach at Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, N.Y., and led the team to its first-ever title during the 2005-06 season.
