University of New England Athletics

Scontras embodies the spirit of UNE, and though he has no direct ties to the University, he is an amazing supporter of our athletic programs. Andy first became involved with UNE through the BodyWise Community Wellness Program, which allows community members to use UNE’s fitness center and specialists. While trying to deal with some health issues, Andy took advantage of this program and was always very appreciative that our fitness specialists helped him recover.

To be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a friend or special contributor, special consideration is given to those who have enhanced the experience of student-athletes at St. Francis College, Westbrook College or the University of New England. Andy is clearly that person and UNE’s student-athletes are very appreciative of the time and effort he puts into cheering for and supporting their teams. Past alumni always ask about him – how he is doing, what he’s been up to and the like.
