Andy Biggs


Biggs has been the Head Men's Soccer Coach for four seasons. This past season (2009), he led the Nor'easters to their first double-digit win total since the 1997 season, including an impressive victory over perennial power Roger Williams University. 

Prior to become full-time at UNE, Biggs was Director of Soccer Coaching and Player Development for Soccer Maine. In that position, he was responsible for the coaching education program, player and team development clinics, and for overseeing the state’s Olympic Development Program coaching staff. He was also involved in the evaluation and selection of players for the state’s teams. Biggs served as an assistant men's soccer coach at UNE from 1993-1998.

A 1993 graduate of Middlebury College, Biggs began his collegiate career at the University of Pennsylvania. From there he went on to play professionally in New Zealand, as well as for the Arizona Cotton of the United States Inner Soccer League.

Biggs was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America Youth Boys’ National Coach of the Year in 1999. In addition to his ODP experience, he also serves as member of United States Soccer national instructional staff.

Within the Athletics Department, Biggs serves on the Academic Support team.

Biggs and his wife, Becky, reside in Gorham with their daughter, Lucy.
