Robidoux, Wright named UNE Athletes of the Month for October

Women's cross country runner Emma Robidoux and men's cross country runner Ben Wright have been named University of New England Athletes of the Month for October 2017.

Robidoux capped the period with a repeat performance at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, topping the 102-competitor field to win for the second straight year. The result earned her the CCC Runner of the Year title (and All-CCC) and a third CCC Runner of the Week honor in the month, while she also garnered the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. The senior from Fairhaven, Mass. also led the squad with top-10 showings at the James Earley Invitational (8th of 257) and the Maine Championship (9th of 150).

Wright, a junior from Wells, Maine, guided the men's program in each of the same three races. He registered 29th at both the James Earley and Maine events, before placing 6th out of 100 to claim All-CCC status at the conference meet. Wright's finishes put him in top 13 percent of the average fields.

Other nominees for October included: Katie Beaudoin (women's soccer), Kersey Boulay (field hockey), Rene Roggenbuck (women's volleyball), and Lee Esposito (men's soccer).
