CCC All-Sports Trophy

Nor'easters tied for the lead in CCC Women's All-Sports Trophy standings

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- After the fall and winter sports seasons, the University of New England is tied for first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's All-Sports Trophy standings, as released today (Mar. 14) by the CCC Office.

The Nor'easters have 8.00 points to tie them with Endicott College in the standings. Roger Williams University (7.50), Western New England University (7.00) and Gordon College (6.08) round out the Top 5. In second place after the fall sports season, UNE moved up a slot thanks to its conference championship in women's basketball.

The all-sports trophy was introduced in 2013-14 and is awarded annually to the institution that performs the best across the board in league competition. Points are awarded based on CCC tournament championships (10 points) and tournament runner-up finishes (9 points), followed by the regular-season position (including ties) in the CCC standings for the remaining teams (8 points, etc.). The final average score is then determined by dividing the total points by the number of CCC sports that the institution sponsors.

Both the UNE cross country and field hockey teams captured conference championships in the fall.
