SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- For a second straight season, the University of New England Nor'easters has drawn Wentworth Institute of Technology for the No. 1/No. 8 matchup when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Basketball Championship begins on Tuesday (7 p.m.). CCC Commissioner Gregg Kaye announced the tournament schedule late Saturday (Feb. 22).

#1 UNE (23-2, 17-1) vs. #8 Wentworth (8-16, 5-13)
Last Meeting: February 4, 2014 (UNE won in OT on the road, 61-54)
Recent Series (since 1999-00): UNE leads, 22-2 (Won 11)

The Nor'easters captured a third straight regular-season title (17-1 CCC) with a win over Roger Williams in the finale on Saturday. At 23-2 overall, UNE has come out on top of its last 11 outings and is in search of a third posteason championship in five years.

Big Blue took both meetings against the Leopards (5-13 CCC) during the season, with a 67-54 home triumph on January 7 and a 61-54 overtime victory in Boston on February 4. The Nor'easters have defeated Wentworth 11 contests in-a-row.

The other quarterfinal-round matchups will feature second-seeded Roger Williams (15-3) against No. 7 Nichols (6-12), No. 3 Endicott (14-4) hosting sixth-seeded Western New England (7-11), and Curry (9-9) at Salve Regina (11-7) in the No. 4/No. 5 game.

Teams advancing from the opening round will play in semifinals on Thursday, and the CCC Championship will be decided next Saturday (Mar. 1).
