SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England has 50 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2013 Fall Academic All-Conference Team, as announced this morning by CCC Assistant Commissioner Shannon O'Brien.
The academic all-conference honor rewards varsity student-athletes who attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. The fall academic all-conference team encompasses student-athletes who participated in the sports of men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, and volleyball.
The Nor'easters' total of 50 student-athletes ranks second among the CCC's 10 institutions, despite the fact that UNE does not offer women's tennis, which the nine other CCC institutions do.
