UNE student-athletes pedal in support of Cycle4Care

SCARBOROUGH, Maine -- Members of the women's lacrosse and women's soccer teams took part in the 2nd Annual Cycle4Care fundraiser at Zone 3 Fitness Friday evening (Jan. 27) -- an event supporting the Cancer Community Center in South Portland.

The Cancer Community Center provides wellness activities, educational resources, and emotional support for people who have experienced cancer in their lives, where they be patients or survivors, family members, friends, or coworkers. All services from the Cancer Community Center are free of charge, so anyone can benefit from the knowledge and experiences found at the facility. (Visit www.cancercommunitycenter.org for more information)

Cycle4Care is one-day event where individuals, groups, or teams pedal away on indoor bicycles for varied amounts of time. (For more information, visit cycle4care.kintera.org)

Approximately 30 student-athletes participated in the three-hour Spinathon representing Big Blue, which topped the Collegiate Challenge by collecting more than $800 for the Cancer Community Center.

Fans are encouraged to donate HERE in the event's honor, with proceeds going to the Cancer Community Center. The deadline is February 3.
