BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England first-year Tyler Thomas (Pleasantville, N.Y.) has been selected The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 7. TCCC Sports Information Coordinator Matt Pettinicchi made the announcement this afternoon.

Thomas kicked off his collegiate career with a two-goal, three-assist performance in a 12-11 overtime win against Lasell. During a 5:49 span in the second quarter, he recorded all three assists setting up his brother (Dylan Thomas) as the Nor'easters assumed an 8-1 lead.

Later in the week, the attacker tallied a pair of scores and added an assist as UNE fell to Wheaton, 12-10. His goal just under a minute into the fourth quarter sparked a run of three unanswered scores to pull the hosts back from an 11-6 deficit beginning the period.
