BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England women's soccer player Monica Meza (San Diego, Calif.) has been chosen The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sept. 27. TCCC Sports Information Coordinator Matt Pettinicchi made the announcement this afternoon.

Meza, a first-year midfielder, scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give UNE a 2-1 victory over Endicott College on Saturday -- the Nor'easters' first win over Endicott since 1999. Earlier in the week, Meza had a goal and an assist in an 8-0 shutout of Regis College.

UNE is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in TCCC play.
