BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England men's cross country runner Matt Veiga (Lynn, Mass.) has been chosen The Commonwealth Coast Conference Runner of the Week for the period ending Sept. 27. TCCC Sports Information Coordinator Matt Pettinicchi made the announcement this afternoon.

Veiga placed third at the Elms College Blazers Invitational on Saturday, completing the eight-kilometer course in a season-best time of 27:21. He led the Nor'easters to a second-place finish.
