Individual and Team Results

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Behind a strong performance by junior Matt Veiga (Lynn, Mass.), the University of New England men's cross country team finished second at the Blazers Invitational -- hosted by Elms College -- Saturday.

Veiga placed third with a eight-kilometer time of 27:21 for the Nor'easters, who totaled 45 points to finish second behind Johnson & Wales University (23 points).

UNE's remaining scoring runners were tightly-bunched. Sophomore Bosco Oringa (Portland, Maine) recorded a time of 29:34 to finish ninth, while junior Dan Kelleher (Norton, Mass.) offered a Top 10 performance with a time of 29:35. Juniors Josh Grenier (Otisfield, Maine) and Josh Havelin (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) each broke 30 minutes to place 11th and 12th, respectively.

Up next for the Nor'easters is the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College. Next Saturday's start time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
