Johnnie Jefferson and
Jaykyri Simpson have been selected to play in the New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) Senior All-Star Game on Sunday, April 19 at Staake Gymnasium on the campus of Babson College.
Jefferson, a forward from Dallas, Texas, averaged a team-high 15.4 points while making 41.9 percent (78 of 186) of his three-point field goal attempts. He averaged 4.7 rebounds and shot a team-best 85.7 percent (42 of 49) from the free throw line. Jefferson was chosen first team all-The Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Simpson, a guard from East Cleburne, Texas, contributed 12.2 points per game. He led UNE in rebounds (169), assists (106), steals (63) and blocked shots (17). Simpson voted TCCC Defensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference.
Led by second-year head coach Jason Mulligan, the Nor'easters tied a school record for wins (24) while earning the program's first-ever TCCC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
