Softball player Megan Gaedje was voted TCCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England softball player Megan Gaedje (Tolland, Conn.) has been voted The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which was announced today (April 30) by TCCC Commissioner Gregg Kaye.  Gaedje was also named first team all-conference, while Ashley DePasquale (Uxbridge, Mass.), Lauren Webb (Jericho, Vt.) and Ashley Gott (Winterport, Maine) were chosen honorable mention.

An applied exercise science major with a 3.57 cumulative grade point average, Gaedje played a steady left field for the Nor'easters.  Offensively, she batted .385 while leading the team in extra-base hits (12), runs scored (44), stolen bases (22) and slugging percentage (.577).

DePasquale, a senior, made the all-conference team as a designated player after batting a team-best .404 and slugging .566.  She paced the Nor'easters in runs batted in (25), doubles (8) and base on balls (21).

Webb, a junior shortstop, led the Nor'easters in hits with 44 and was second in batting average at .389.  She added seven doubles, three triples and 20 stolen bases.  Webb tied for the team lead in games played (36).

Gott, a first-year catcher, posted a .322 batting average and knocked in 10 runs.  She was tied for third on the team with six doubles.  Defensively, Gott threw out 7 of 27 runners attempting to steal.  

The Nor'easters finished with a 22-13-1 record and were seeded sixth for the TCCC Championship.
