BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England women's lacrosse players
Ginny Lee (York, Maine),
Kate McCarter (Bellingham, Mass.) and
Mallory Long (Lewiston, Maine) have been named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) all-conference team, annnounced today (April 29) by TCCC Commissioner Gregg Kaye.
Lee, a junior defender, was voted first team all-conference. She was second on the team in ground balls (41), draw controls (28) and was tied for third in caused turnovers (13). Offensively, Lee scored 11 goals and handed out five assists.
McCarter, a sophomore attack, earned second team all-TCCC accolades after racking up a team-high 52 goals -- the fourth-highest single-season total in school history. McCarter had three game-winning goals and led the Nor'easters with nine free-position goals.
Long, a junior midfielder, was chosen honorable mention all-conference. She led UNE in ground balls (55), draw controls (58) and caused turnovers (22), while finding the back of the net 26 times and recording 12 assists. Her 38 points placed her third on the squad.
