BIDDEFORD, Maine -- After winning its final regular-season game to earn a berth in the 2009 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship, the University of New England men's lacrosse team will head to Springfield, Mass. on Tuesday (April 28) to take on top-seeded Western New England College in a quarterfinal-round game starting at 7:00 p.m.

Other opening-round contests include No. 2 Endicott hosting No. 7 Gordon College, No. 3 Roger Williams University entertaining No. 6 Wentworth Institute of Technology, and No. 4 New England College playing host to No. 5 Salve Regina University.

Tuesday's winners will advance to Thursday's (April 30) semifinal round, and the championship is ticketed for Saturday (May 2).

The Nor'easters earned a spot in the TCCC Championship after winning a school-record six games during the regular season.  They face a formidable foe in WNEC, the 12th-ranked team in the nation.  The Golden Bears defeated UNE, 18-3, back on April 11.
