BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England softball players Jenn Waldecker and Marie Mantelli have been recognized in The Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly report for the period ending March 29.  

Waldecker, a junior utility player from Hooksett, N.H., was selected TCCC co-Player of the Week after batting .625 in three games.  She had a three-run home run in a victory at Wentworth Institute of Technology, then had six runs batted in with a double and homer in a win over Curry College.  For the week, Waldecker had a .700 on-base percentage and 1.500 slugging percentage.

Mantelli, a first-year infielder hailing from Thompson, Conn., was chosen TCCC Rookie of the Week after blasting a pair of home runs and registering nine RBI in the Nor'easters' 3-1 week.  She had a 3-for-3 performance with five RBI in a win at Wentworth, and also knocked in three runs in a victory over Curry College.
