Third-seeded Nor'easters to host UMass Boston in ECACs

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- After being upset in the opening round of the conference tournament, the University of New England women's soccer team has earned a place in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Championship. The third-seeded Nor'easters (14-3) play host to No. 6 UMass Boston (14-5-1) Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Other first round contests feature top-seed and two-time defending champion Brandeis University (9-6-3) taking on No. 8 Castleton State College (11-6-2), No. 7 Lesley University (15-4-1) visiting second-seeded Keene State College (14-6-2), and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (14-5) hosting Emmanuel College (14-6-1) in the No. 4/5 match-up.

The semifinals are set to take place Saturday (Nov. 14) and the final on Sunday (Nov. 15).

Last year, UNE reached the final of the ECAC Championship after wins over Curry College and Keene State, before falling to No. 1 Brandeis in the title game by a score of 3-1.
