BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England men's basketball player Anthony Johnson has been chosen The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 22. TCCC Sports Information Coordinator Matt Pettinicchi made the announcement this afternoon.
Johnson, a sophomore guard from Austin, Texas, averaged 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 2-1 week for the Nor'easters. He tallied 22 points and grabbed five rebounds in UNE's win over No. 8 UMass Dartmouth on Friday. Earlier in the week, he contributed a 17-point, six-rebound, five-assist effort versus the University of Southern Maine.
