CUMBERLAND, Maine -- The University of New England women's cross country team's season came to a close Saturday as the Nor'easters placed 29th in a field of 47 teams at the NCAA Division III New England Regional hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday at Twin Brooks Recreational Center.

MIT and Middlebury College tied for the team title with identical scores of 63. Both squads earned a berth into the NCAA National Championship. MIT's Jacqui Wentz was the overall champion, recording a six-kilometer time of 21:35.

Sophomore Jess Partlow was the top finisher for the Nor'easters. She placed 95th out of a field of 315 runners with a time of 24:20.

Also scoring for UNE were first-years Kim Martins (178th - 25:55) and Jen Sweigert (191st - 26:07), junior Mary Fehlner (211th - 26:37), and first-year Kaitlin Noyes (214th - 26:41).
