CUMBERLAND, Maine -- Junior Matt Veiga wrapped up a fantastic season by placing 49th out of a field 323 competitors as the University of New England finished 31st overall at the 2009 NCAA Division III New England Cross Country Regional hosted by the University of Southern Maine at Twin Brooks Recreation Center.

Veiga registered an eight-kilometer time of 26:32 to slide into the Top 50 and cap a season that saw him win The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship and also earn all-ECAC status.

Also scoring for the Nor'easters were juniors Josh Grenier (204th - 29:10), Dan Kelleher (206th - 29:13) and Josh Grenier (214th - 29:30), as well as first-year Tim Denoncour (240th - 30:08).

Individual champion Edgar Kosgey led Williams College to its second consecutive regional title. Kosgey defended his individual title with a time of 25:16.
