SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Sophomore
Jess Partlow (Hopkinton, N.H.) clocked in with a time of 23:55 on the 6k course to place second at The Commonwealth Coast Championship hosted by Western New England Saturday.
First-year Paige Pallotto of Salve Regina University cleaned up at the meet, earning the TCCC Runner and Rookie of the Year awards after crossing the line 24 seconds in front of Partlow.
Roger Williams University nipped the Seahawks for the team title, collecting points from runners finishing 3rd, 4th, 7th, 10th, and 15th for a score of 39. Salve totaled 40, and the University of New England claimed third with 78.
Gordon College (94) and Endicott College (127) rounded out the top five.
Four other Nor'easters placed in the top 25 individuals to help UNE. Junior
Mary Fehlner (Keene Valley, N.Y.) came in 16th, and first-years
Kim Martins (Newburyport, Mass.),
Jen Sweigert (Mohrsville, Pa.) and
Lindsay Forrette (Chicopee, Mass.) finished 19th, 20th, and 21st, respectively.
UNE travels to Williamstown, Mass. next Saturday (Nov. 7) for the ECAC Championship.
