WENHAM, Mass. -- Led by a Top 20 performance from sophomore Jess Partlow, the University of New England women's cross country team finished fifth out of 27 entries at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College Saturday morning.
The Nor'easters posted a team score of 169 to finish behind Wellesley College (38), the University of Southern Maine (65), Salve Regina University (151) and Gordon College (163).
Partlow placed 17th overall with a five-kilometer time of 20:06 on the soggy course. Jen Sweigert (32nd - 20:36), Kim Martins (35th - 20:42), Mary Fehlner (37th - 20:46) and Kaitlin Noyes (48th - 21:06) rounded out UNE's scoring participants.
Randelle Boots of Wesleyan was the individual winner with a time of 18:55.
UNE's next race will be Oct. 10 at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westield State College.
