UNE placed four runners in the Top 50 to finish sixth at the James Early Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England women's cross country team had a solid showing at a large meet for the second consecutive week, placing sixth out of 25 teams at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State College at Stanley Park.
Sophomore
Jess Partlow was 13th in a field of 266 runners. She recorded a five-kilometer time of 20:19.
Junior
Mary Fehlner and first-years
Jen Sweigert and
Kim Martins each recorded Top 50 performances for the Nor'easters. First-year
Lindsay Forrette placed 56th to complete UNE's scoring runners.
The University of Southern Maine totaled 58 points to win the event, while Kerry Arouca of host Westfield State was the individual champion with a time of 18:57.
UNE returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 17) at the Maine Intercollegiate Championship.
